North Gujarat is naturally endowment with one of the richest alluvial aquifer of India, A study carried out four district in North Gujarat, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, and Patan. In these districts uncontrolled exploitation for irrigation has resulted in many undesirable Consequences, in these areas estimated that 60 percent of the net farm output generated through groundwater use in agriculture .Tubewell irrigation Supports of the farming in Cropping Pattern, But this is despite the fact that tube well irrigation costs have increases rapidly with depleting water tables . Irrigation areas have increased steadily, even more precariously dependent upon sustainable groundwater management.

This is a book containing five one-act plays written in Gujarati language and published by Gujarat Sahitya Academy, Gandhinagar. The Foreword to this book is written by eminent theatre scholar and professor Dr. Mahesh Champaklal sir. These plays deal with psychological aspect of a human personality where a human being suffers owing to modern life-style and demands. Psychological issues like megalomania and post traumatic syndrome are treated in two plays. One play deals with the modern education system. Another play deals with rampant corruption where even God's visit to the earth is doubted. The fifth play is about how the rich, powerful and politicians together exploit the resources and loot the society. This anthology was awarded with the prestigious Sahitya Academy Award for Best One-Act Anthology for the year 2022.
The Ambivalence of Hybridity : A study of Vijay Tedulkar's protagonist in Silence! The Court is in Session

The present paper is an attempt to analyze the female protagonists of Vijay Tendulkar's play Silence! The Court is in Session in the context of Postcolonial theory of hybridity propounded by Homi K Bhabha. His theoretical statements are based on fundamental concepts of liminality, hybridity, mimicry and ambivalence. The ambivalence resulted from the cross-cultural encounter is also experienced by the people of the colonized nation. In the era of globalization and liberalization, the concept of culture and its values has undergone some drastic changes. The paper throws light on the personality traits and psychological dilemma faced by the protagonists due to the inborn cultural values and those of western values. Contemporary Indian drama is rich in explorations of cultural hybridity in its various dimensions. Vijay Tendulkar, the prominent and influenced dramatist of the time is often discussed and criticized for creating complex characters. The paper tries to discuss the model of „hybrid identity‟ and „fragmented identity‟.
Exploitation in the guise of Upliftment : A study of Radhavji Madhad’s Short Story ‘Stamp’(Sikko)

The present paper is an attempt to study a Gujarati short story entitled "Sikko"(Stamp) by well-known Gujarati writer Radhavji Madhad. The writer has presented the saga of suffering of the dalits. The irony of the story is the fact that the attempt to uplift the dalit community itself has provided the means for exploiting them further. The paper throws light on this aspect of the story. Caste system is a defining characteristic of the Indian society. In this society the status of the individual is determined by her/his birth and not by deeds. This is a system which has been powerfully strengthened and legitimised by the brahminical ideology. The term „dalit‟ refers to all the exploited people belonging to various lower castes in India.The Indian society is broadly classified into three main communities, namely, the upper-caste, the non-upper-caste and the depressed classes. The paper attempts to analysis the cause of the suffering and exploitation of the depressed class. The weapon of reservation to uplift the depressed itself becomes the means of the exploitation of the protagonist 'Leela'.
Stylistics, Narrative Perspective, and Reader Response in English Fiction: A Cognitive Approach

Stylistics provides a framework for understanding how linguistic choices shape meaning, guide interpretation, and influence reader perception in English fiction. Narrative perspective, lexical patterning, sentence structure, figurative language, and discourse organization operate not merely as aesthetic features but as cognitive and interpretive cues that structure the relationship between narrator, text, and reader. This research paper examines how stylistic strategies interact with narrative perspective to construct meaning and guide interpretive engagement in English fiction. The study synthesizes insights from stylistics, narratology, cognitive poetics, and reception theory. It investigates how features such as point of view, free indirect discourse, lexical foregrounding, metaphorical patterning, and narrative tempo affect reader inference, emotional response, and comprehension of character psychology. The discussion highlights the reciprocal relationship between textual form and reader cognition: stylistic patterns shape the interpretive process, while interpretation itself depends on readers’ cultural, psychological, and experiential frameworks. Findings indicate that stylistic features function as interpretive signals that direct attention, modulate empathy, and construct narrative reliability or ambiguity. Narrative perspective emerges as a key determinant of meaning, shaping access to consciousness, ethical evaluation, and psychological identification. The study concludes that stylistics deepens understanding of how fiction communicates experience, constructs narrative reality, and transforms linguistic form into literary meaning.
