Abstract

This is a book containing five one-act plays written in Gujarati language and published by Gujarat Sahitya Academy, Gandhinagar. The Foreword to this book is written by eminent theatre scholar and professor Dr. Mahesh Champaklal sir. These plays deal with psychological aspect of a human personality where a human being suffers owing to modern life-style and demands. Psychological issues like megalomania and post traumatic syndrome are treated in two plays. One play deals with the modern education system. Another play deals with rampant corruption where even God's visit to the earth is doubted. The fifth play is about how the rich, powerful and politicians together exploit the resources and loot the society. This anthology was awarded with the prestigious Sahitya Academy Award for Best One-Act Anthology for the year 2022.
