In this work, zinc-doped lithium manganese oxide (LiMn2O4: Zn) nanosorbent was synthesized by simple calcination technique, and the protonated H/LiMn2O4: Zn was explored to resolve the environmental issues such as removing organic molecules from wastewater. The crystalline size of 26 nm of cubic HMn2O4: Zn (space group: Fd-3m) by the X-ray Diffraction while the TEM sizes were obtained 14.3 and 13 nm for LiMn2O4: Zn and HMn2O4: Zn. The chemical states of the structurally modified HMn2O4: Zn were determined by X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy. The surface area of 84.98 (m2/g) along with a total pore volume of 0.2061 (cm3/g) was examined by BET, respectively. The results demonstrated that Nanosorbent effectively adsorbs methyl orange in an acidic solution (pH = 3) during the course of 180 min of contact time. The adsorption efficiency of HMn2O4: Zn nanosorbents for methyl orange was evaluated by applying Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm. However, the HMn2O4: Zn nanosorbents showed efficient adsorption towards methyl orange dye which may be further applied to remove the different organic dye molecules from wastewater.
