Abstract
This research investigates the psychological dimensions of emotional maturity among youth and its
critical intersection with health-related behaviors Emotional maturity is conceptualized not merely
as the expression of affect, but as the capacity for self-regulation, scrial adaptability, and the logical
management of environmental stressors The study specifically explores whether demographic
variables, such as gender and geographical residency, yield significant variances in the emotional
development of young adults.
A survey-based experimental design was implemented involving a stratified random sample Of 120
participants from the Gandhinagar district, The cohort was equally distributed between urban
(N=60) and rural (N=60) areas, with balanced gender representation (30 males and 30 females per
group). Participants "ere evaluated using the Emotional Maturity Scale developed by Singh and
Bhargava. Quantitative data "ere analyzed through Mean, Standard Deviation, and independent
samples t•tests to assess the validity of the null hypotheses.
The statistical findings revealed no significant difference in emotional maturity between male and
female youth in urban environments. Similarly, gender-based comparisons in rural settings
demonstrated no statistically significant variance. Consequently, both null hypotheses were
accepted, indicating that emotional maturity levels remain relatively consistent across gender and
regional lines within the studied population, The study concludes that fostering emotional maturity
is essential for enhancing psychological resilience, improving decision-making, and mitigating the
negative impacts of digital challenges such as social media-induced anxiety and cognitive
fragmentation,
